CHA 2015 - Craft and Hobby Show in Anaheim

I usually think of January as a 'slow' month, but this one has just flown by. First, I went to CHA, the Craft and Hobby Megashow in Anaheim, CA and was super excited about all the new products. Best show in several years, I think. Some exciting reveals/news/video links if you keep reading....Then, I attended my annual scrapbooking retreat with all my favorite ladies (we were missing a few, but they will be back next year).

It's so important to just get away, have some great gourmet food, and laugh the night away. I look forward to spending time with this group all year long...

CHA was SO much fun this year! If you follow me on Instagram (blaynewhite), you saw the posts from the block party and some video clips of my favorite products. Here are a few recaps: I got to meet Teresa Collins for the first time. I didn't realize until I left that she had no fancy handouts or slides, she just spoke from the heart and we were all spell-bound. What an inspiration. Met up with great friend, Stephanie Hackney, from Paper Crafters Corner - we always have 6 hour dinners! Danced with my Tombow friends and met some new ones. And talked with Kelly Purkey about living out of a suitcase. She's such a sweetie. Her new line with Hero Arts was adorable: see catalog HERE.

And I also got a fist bump from Jack, Amy Tan's little boy - isn't he the cutest! Love Amy's new

products with American Crafts: Rise and Shine. Here is a review by May Flaum. And here's Jack:

Heidi Swapp had some great new items: the MemoryDex (my favorite new product), new dies, an awesome planner (with matching script dies and punches), and the Minc. machine, which allows you to gold foil items printed from your printer!

Everything seemed to be covered in gold foil this year, including all the pretty party supplies. My favorites were from My Mind's Eye: (where were all these things when my kids were little???? we had to make all this by hand!)

Tim Holtz did not disappoint with a new blueprint theme and crazy bird stamps - how does he keep doing it? And Ranger had the biggest, not to mention the most inspriring booth, as well as the best Make and Take, (in my opinion):

EXCITING NEWS: I spoke with both Kelly Purkey and Becky Higgins and we are negotiating to have some of their FREE product in my digi-scrapbooking class coming up in February! I will be talking to other designers, as well, but these were the most recent designers I've spoken to in-person. Look for my next blog post on the upcoming classes for more info.

To see more in-depth product reviews and videos, you need to check out the playlist I made on YouTube.

Several of the videos were done by my good friend, Stephanie Hackney, of Paper Crafter's Corner, and I didn't see any reason to do my own because hers are so professional! Besides, I'm off adding some new features to ScrapRoom in time for the classes (that's the plan, anyway). Look for another blog post/email regarding that.
