Alaska Digital Photo Travel Book With Memorabilia

Happy New Year! I'm not even going to say how the last one blew by, because you already knew that, right? Let's jump right into what I'm working on now because I'm super excited about it. I've been waiting to work on my Alaska/Disney Cruise book because we took SO MANY PHOTOS. Even I was overwhelmed. Plus, I had to gather images from Alyx's camera, Bryan's camera, and 3 different phones and organize them all. Every time I'd try to work on it, something else more pressing would come up and now I've cleared off the next week to get it finished!!

I'm going to also be adding some video to our YouTube channel on how I got so many photos from so many sources organized as soon as I get my book sent off to the printer. I scanned our memorabilia and added it to the book - I was so proud of myself for this. I usually procrastinate about this part. I am loving this book because it's got so much color and beautiful scenery and I can't wait to get it in my hands. For now, let me know what you think about the first pages. You'll notice that my style is very simple and I let the photos do the talking. I don't custom design every single page, either. Photo book printing has gotten a lot better, so I take advantage of the pre-set templates (different printers have different options) and sometimes just export my photos and drag/drop them into the book templates. When I'm adding memorabilia or want to use pretty fonts and make a really special page, I use the Project Editor in Gather or ScrapRoom to do that. Here are some of my pages so far:

Super simple. This will be the wrap-around cover (the left side is the back). I'm using a company that prints the images on the actual cover:

A page with scanned memorabilia added. I loved the menu items - Bacon Deviled Eggs, anyone?

Some pages are just the images themselves. The Chihuly Glass Exhibit in Seattle:

And sometimes, I just need to get tons of photos on the page. Tristan and I found a Star Wars Costume Exhibit! ALL the original costumes! These are just a few:

I also love this page:

Another page with scanned memorabilia:

Ready to work on some travel pages? Me too! Back to creating. As soon as I finish, I will post more pages.
